| This product family has been a long time performer in the Hollister portfolio and is still a good choice for select situations. Karaya is a natural skin barrier that makes it particularly well suited for people who have sensitivities to synthetic skin barriers. It is only mildly adhesive so all Karaya 5 pouches also include a border of tape or belt tabs to secure with a belt. Karaya pouches are presized with a round skin barrier opening. |

Drainable Pouches
A pouch that opens from the bottom to empty the contents. A drainable pouch requires some type of clamp on the bottom to keep it closed. A person with a colostomy or ileostomy (NOT a urostomy) would use this type of pouch. |

Closed Pouches
A pouch that is not drainable from the bottom. When it is full, it is removed and thrown away. Most often a person with a colostomy would use this type of pouch. |

Urostomy Pouches
This type of pouch has a drain tap or spout at the end since it is designed to drain liquid contents (usually urine) from a pouch. A person with a urostomy or urinary diversion would use this type of pouch. |
