| Wound and Skin Care Objectives:
Protect intact periwound skin, cleanse wound, manage wound exudate, debride wound, hydrate wound, manage wound odour, and fill in dead space. |

| Note: Cautious use of moisture-retentive dressings and close monitoring is recommended with ischaemic wounds. When peripheral pulses are absent, do not use occlusive dressings. Examples of non-occlusive dressings include hydrogels in amorphous or sheet forms, calcium alginates, or impregnated gauze sponges. Examples of non-occlusive cover dressings include composite dressings or gauze. |

- Heavy: calcium alginate, foam, absorptive gauze, combinations of dressings, wound beads, pastes or powders

Debride wound:
- Dry: transparent film, hydrogel, moist saline gauze, hydrating impregnated gauze
- Moist/wet: hydrocolloid, foam, calcium alginate, absorptive gauze

| Hydrate wound: Hydrogel, hydrating impregnated gauze, moist saline gauze |

| Manage wound odour: Wound cleanser, odour absorbent dressing, room deodoriser, more frequent dressing changes, antimicrobial topical agent |
