| THE DAY I GOT MY STOMA BOOKLET (Online Only) |
| This booklet is intended for both parents and children. It contains stories written by parents of children with ostomies and teens/tweens with an ostomy. It was compiled by Helen Woodcock, Children's Stoma Nurse Specialist at Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Sheffield, UK. She compiled these stories for two reasons, 1) to give insight into other parents' experiences of caring for a child with a stoma, and how they learnt to cope and deal with the situation, and 2) how other children's/teenager's experience having a stoma and how they dealt with it. Without the parents and children who were under her care sharing their stories, this booklet would not have been produced. |
