About Rita:
Rita is a writer living in Vienna. Shortly after her ostomy surgery, she began experiencing problems with the skin around her stoma. As the issues worsened, she retreated from social situations and the things she loved to do. After taking control of her skin health and finding the right ostomy products, she has been able to return to a happy and full life. Now, she loves to stay active through swimming, yoga, and tennis.

"The first time I had issues with the skin around my stoma was about 1½ years after my surgery. It started with just a little itch. At first I didn’t take it seriously, but it got worse and worse, and started severely affecting my life. Since I started using CeraPlus™ Products, however, I’ve had no more skin issues. I have no more itching whatsoever and that is a big plus for me. When my skin is healthy I don’t think about my ostomy at all. I feel like everyone else.
The CeraPlus™ Skin Barrier* that I use is very flexible, and is comfortable to wear with my active lifestyle. I play tennis and do yoga, so I have to bend and stretch a lot. When I exercise, the barrier just stays where it is; it moves with me. And I don’t have to worry about leaks because it fits so well.
What completes my stoma system is the very nice pouch. I like it because it’s discreet under my clothes. The pouch fabric is smooth and gentle to the skin. And what I think is amazing is that the pouch is not transparent, so no one sees what’s inside it. The pouch material also is water repellent and dries really quickly, and that’s great because you don’t have to worry about wet underwear. I definitely would say that the CeraPlus™ pouching system is perfect for me and my stoma."
